Perminou
Fun & personal
Built for myself
I built a study tool for my own last-minute motorcycle exam prep. It helped me understand the rules, and it helped me pass.
Real desktop and mobile captures of my local study app, composed for this case study. Perminou and NARSA branding belong to the source platform; this is my personal learning project.
01 / The idea
A little panic. A useful side project.
My motorcycle exam was coming up, and I had left the preparation a little late. So I did what felt natural: I built something to help me learn. Perminou became my own small study space, with Arabic lessons, visual explanations, and things I could try for myself.
I needed the rules to make sense while I revised. Reading was one part of it; seeing a situation, changing something, and understanding why the answer changed made the ideas much easier to work through.
My contribution
Personal project: design, development, and shaping the learning experience around my own revision.
Built with
- Rust
- Leptos
- WebAssembly
- CSS / SVG
02 / The process
How I built it.
Give revision a place
I brought the lessons into an Arabic interface with topic browsing and search. Each lesson moves from an explanation to a worked situation and practice questions. Bookmarks and local progress let me return to what I was working on.
Make the ideas tangible
Diagrams and small driving labs let me experiment with the rules. In the stopping-distance lab, I can change speed, reaction time, and road conditions, then see what happens. Worked situations and answer explanations give me a reason to pause and think.
Build for my own use
Rust and Leptos run the app in the browser through WebAssembly. The layout adapts from desktop to a phone, and progress stays in that browser. I added my own learning explanations alongside an optional local library of NARSA source material.
03 / The result
I built it. It helped. I passed.
I passed my motorcycle exam, and this little project really helped with the last-minute preparation. That is the part I like most: I made something for a problem I had, used it, and got something meaningful out of it. A fun side project, with a very personal win.
- Arabic lessons and a right-to-left interface
- Interactive diagrams, driving labs, and practice checks
- Bookmarks and progress saved in the browser
